At Burpengary Family Vets, we provide modern, in-house digital radiology so we can diagnose problems quickly, accurately, and without unnecessary delays or surprise costs.
Our high-resolution digital X-rays allow our vets to clearly assess bones, joints, lungs, abdomen, and internal organs. Better image quality leads to better clinical decisions—and fewer repeat tests.
Having radiology available on site means:
X-rays can often be performed during your consultation or while your pet is hospitalised
No need for off-site referrals unless absolutely necessary
Faster diagnosis and earlier treatment
Fewer appointments and less stress for your pet
Clear, upfront costs discussed before proceeding
Digital radiography also uses lower radiation levels, captures images quickly, and allows us to review and explain findings with you in real time.
We regularly perform radiographs including, but not limited to:
Chest (thorax) – heart, lungs, airways
Abdomen – stomach, intestines, liver, bladder, spleen
Limbs – shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, hocks
Feet & toes – fractures, infections, nail and claw injuries
Spine & neck – back pain, disc disease, trauma
Pelvis – fractures and joint assessment
Skull & jaw – dental roots, jaw injuries, nasal disease
We offer hip and elbow radiographs for breeding and screening, performed to recognised standards and submitted for official scoring where required. We explain the process and costs beforehand, so you know exactly what’s involved.
Pregnancy X-rays can be taken later in gestation to:
Confirm pregnancy
Estimate litter size
Help plan for a safe delivery
Identify potential risks prior to labour
We’ll always talk you through whether imaging is needed and what it will cost, so there are no surprises.
We believe affordable vet care and high-quality medicine can—and should—go together. As a locally owned, family-run clinic, we care about local families and are committed to fair, transparent pricing. We discuss options and costs upfront, avoid unnecessary tests, and focus on what genuinely benefits your pet—not corporate targets. Faster answers, honest advice, and care you can trust.
