{"id":1401,"date":"2026-06-22T03:04:31","date_gmt":"2026-06-22T03:04:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bfvets.com.au\/?p=1401"},"modified":"2026-06-22T03:06:22","modified_gmt":"2026-06-22T03:06:22","slug":"bagera-vs-fish-hook","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bfvets.com.au\/index.php\/2026\/06\/22\/bagera-vs-fish-hook\/","title":{"rendered":"Bagera vs Fish Hook"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:700\">Bagera vs Fish Hook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bagera the Domestic Short Hair cat recently presented to our team after getting a fish hook lodged through his jaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following assessment, a plan was made to remove the hook safely under general anaesthetic due to the location of the injury and the revision of further tissue damage if removed while awake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The procedure went smoothly, the hook was successfully removed, and Bagera recovered well from his anaesthetic before being discharged home later the same day <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\ud83c\udfe1\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t77\/1\/16\/1f3e1.png\">.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thankfully, he has gone on to make a very quick recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fish hooks can cause significant injury due to the barb and should not be forcibly removed at home.
